This is a new problem for me. Out of nowhere, totally random, when I am typing an email message in Outlook Express, my computer goes into "Overtype" mode, where If I want to change a letter or word, it replaces the next one, and on and on and on! Can someone please help me??? Otherwise, I can't ever make a typing mistake without starting over!

Assuming Outlook is like the others in the Microsoft family, press "Insert" to switch between overtype and the other mode.

Funny you mentioned that. I too get the same problem when I use outlook or outlook express, or MS Word. I would be typing a letter or email and out of the blue it would switch to overtype mode on it's own. I've removed the check in options in the program and it would still put the check in some time later on it's own. I never figured it out why??? But glad I wasn't the only one having that trouble. I will try Bryan's suggestion with the "Insert" key the next time it happens. Keep us posted if you find if that helps or anything else. I will do the same.
