Hi everybody.. For some reason, I have encountered a bug-a-boo in my Outlook Express. When I create mail, I click "format", "background", "picture", then "browse". Then I would find the pic in "My Pictures" folder. This pic that I click is a background wallpaper type pic.
Once my background is inserted in the body of the e-mail I'm creating, I always used to then click "insert", then "picture". But, now my buttons are greyed out... all that shows under that "insert" is "file attachment". I want "picture", but it is greyed out.
What I used to do was create an e-mail and put a nice background in it, then I'd insert a nice winter scene pic on top of that background... it looked great last wintertime for Christmas e-mails...
For some reason, I can't figure this out now.....

I hope I wrote this clearly enough so somebody can hopefully tell me if I need to check-off something... or have a check-mark in the wrong place. I have not made recent changes though; as far as I know, all is in default mode here. The only thing that was done was a brand new Windows XP Home reinstall/format to clean house. (housecleaning; no viri or problems) Can somebody help out this (pre) senior citizen, please? I'm turning too gray, lol!

Thanks very much....

What you need to do is put the graphic in a email, then save it as stationary (pick a easy name). When you want to send a email with your background, select open and type your message...

It acts the same on my system. It would seem that you are mistaken about the way you did it, or you did something special to make it work.

Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

I have just done this. Go to Format / Background browse to your graphic, select it then click ok.

You now have your background, and you can now type your message.

Don't worry about the Insert being greyed, out once you have a pix as background in they will work again...
