Hello:

Could someone help me in getting Outlook Express 6 working again?
The problem started, I believe, while I was in “Set Program Access and Defaults.”
I was in this area removing ePrompter by Tiburon and accidentally removed two unknown programs.
Moreover, rebooting the system produced no errors or files missing.
I went into the Start menu and clicked the icon (Outlook Express) and this caused
Internet Explorer to launch.
In addition, going into \Program Files\Outlook Express\ the main executable file:
MSIMN.EXE is missing, its not listed there at all. In fact it is the only file missing.

THE PROBLEM: How can I go about reinstalling MSIMN.exe back to its location?
Doing a Restore is not an option right now because I’m afraid the nearly 100 files in the Inbox will be lost. This Inbox contain some critical info the lady have in there.

If there is a work-around in getting OE 6 to working again, please submit your input on this matter.

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

Regards,
Purdue112

Purdue112, Hopefully you'll get lucky so do the following.
Go into your Control Panel and open Folder Options, under the View tab checkmark "Show hidden files and folders" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files [Recommended]", click Apply/OK. Now go into Windows Explorer and go to C:\Windows\System32\dllcache folder and open it. There should be a copy of msimn.exe there. You can right click it, choose Copy then paste it into the C:\Programs\Outlook Express folder.

Hope this helps,
Tufenuf
