Last night I was deleteing all my emails from my inbox to funnily enough my deleted items ! lol when I tried to get into my deleted items folder Outlook Express hung and I had to exit via taks manager. Now when I try to open Outlook Express it just hangs half opening.
I have tried the following things to rectify this.
1 I restored XP to the previous day when OE was working this didnt resolve the issue
2 I have been in the registry and deleted the Identity and created a new on :- this didnt work
3 I have uninstalled the Outlook service pack to restore OE to the day before it was installed and this hasnt worked
4 Tried to install IE (as it comes with OE) again but it states I have a newer version of IE and wont complete the installI am running XP Pro but my CD is XP Home.
Anyone got any ideas at all on what could be up with it cause im totally stumped
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance
Cam

ive found a way into outlook now and can send and recieve mail by going in through IE read mail, however its still very slow when changing folders, im trying to delete all mails sent to see if that has any effect but could still do with some ideas on how to sort out the problem ??????????

Hey cowboy try this method, do a search for the file "deleted items.dbx" and delete it, now try opening outlook expresso, comprendes???

i managed to get in last night going in through IE I managed to get in to OE and i managed to delete all my deleted itmes by clicking on search and searching the deleted items folder as to try to open it caused it to freeze, i then did the same on the sent items box and this worked so i was able to move around the folders fine
however previously i had uninstalled a service pack for OE and windows kindly updated it again for me and hey presto the feckin things corrupt again and i cant access OE from IE or any shortcuts either

sussed it, if you get this problem goto add / remove programs, add remove windows components, un check outlook express and run it,
Then check outlook express again once its been uninstalled and installed pop in your XP CD and bobs your uncle fannys your aunt
