I just built a brand new 2.0 Ghz PC with 512K PC2700 RAM, Ultra160 SCSI 80 Gig HD running Windows XP Pro. My system works very fast but Outlook Express is very slow on startup and my SBC DSL connection is also slow to startup as well. The task manager reveals many duplicate copies of programs running some of which are chewing up alot of CPU resources. When I first loaded my OS, everything worked and started up fast but after performing the Windows updates that is when Outlook and my DSL connection slowed down. Anyone got any suggestions on ow to tune these programs in XP Pro ?
