I have Outlook Express 6. Recently when I send an email, it goes out normally. But it does not arrive to the recipient. There is a copy in the sent folder as usual. The settings are all correct, My ISP checked the ports (not blocked), and my antivirus does not scan for email. Firewall is XP. By the way I can receive, just not send. There is no error message. Yesterday it worked, today it doesnt. Any help is appreciated.

Did you try sending a copy to yourself? Maybe the recipient has a problem at their end if you get the copy? Give that a shot and post back.
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Yes I have tried to myself, my other accts, and family. The messages never arrive. Wonder if any others have had this problem? My network tech said he thought he saw a bulletin on it, but that was as far as that went. I dont really need webmail, Outlook Express is good enough for me, but I have to count on it ya' know?

Seems odd. OE has to go through all the checking procedures to send out an email and then put it in the Sent Items folder.
How long has this been going on? It sounds more like a server problem to me. Often servers say all is well, yet after a few days the lost messages start arriving.

gyromungus: Verify the following: In Outlook Express, click on Tools, then Accounts, click on Properties (right side), then click on the Servers tab and at the bottom, verify that the box labeled My Server Requires Authentication is checked. See if that helps you.

Shut down and select "Restart in MS-DOS mode". Type scanreg /restore (hit Return key) then choose a registry dated just before the problem came along.
If this doesn't help try IE Repair. Go to Control Panel/Add-Remove and double click "Microsoft IE Repair" to get the option.
By the way, mine works fine without authentication being ticked, although I suppose this could vary with servers.
