When I compose or reply to a message, Outlook Express is deleting my outgoing mail without sending it....
It shows it in the outbox for a second then shows sending it. It does put a copy in my sent items folder.I have tried:
1. deleting folders and recreating
2. scanning several virus programs
3. running no virus program
4. re-installing xp
5. tested mail via webail to make sure it is not my host. All accounts work fine from my laptop so I am sure it is something to do with the computer.... But what????????
Called microsoft tech support, stayed on phone with them for over 2 hours... they had never heard of such a thing happening.

If you compose a message and then hit send, outlook does put it into the Outbox folder until such a time when it is online and can send it.
Therefore, if you create an e-mail and then hit send - it will flash in the outbox and then usually (depending on settings) will automatically send it.
Try sending an e-mail to yourself using outlook and see if you receive it.
If you don't recieve it - are there any error messages?
Hope this helps, let me know how you get on,
Shaun
