I have the latest OE, I think, but using the Find Messages command in the edit menu never finds the messages I want. I know the message is in my inbox because I haven't deleted it yet, and I know the message I want had the phrase "he died for your sins", but when I type that in and hit Find, it searches the inbox and finds nothing. I haven't put anything else in the fields or checked any checkboxes like the date matching or anything. If I search for something else, it does find one message, but I know it should find more like 6 messages. Anyone else have this problem? In fact, finding messages in OE has never worked for me. Not ever. Is there a fix?

Do you have so many Messages in your Inbox that you can't see what you're looking for ?
Do you have a List of Folders in the pane on the Left?
If not then - on the Menu Bar at the Top of the Main Page - View\layout and check Folder List
In your Inbox - do you have From and Subject Columns? and also Sent or Received with Date?
If you deal with your Messages as you read them ie Flag important ones or Delete - or just keep all for a month say - then you shouldn't have to use the Search - unless you get hundreds of Messages of course!
This is a good Site for things to do with OE

I was so stupid to think that I would need to use the Search feature. You are absolutely right, I should just suck it up, be a man, and go through the 50 messages I got in two days to find the one little sig that I realized was funny.
Ok, reality check, I searched for the wrong phrase. But I'm still suspicious, very suspicious, about the reliability of the search function. It's making me paranoid, like maybe someone doesn't *want* me to find certain things... hm...
