Subject: Outlook Express Address Book Error
OS: Xp HE
CPU/Ram: 2.8/512
Model/Manufacturer: Dell
Comment:

Every time, I try to open the outlook express address book (in the outlook folder or shortcut on desktop), I get the following error "An error occurred while attempting to open the address book file" and if I rename the book to address book_old and try to import a copy of the address book(which I can open on other PCs), I get the following error "An error occurred doing the
import process. The import process could not be completed". But if I go to accessories and open that address book, it opens but it's not the same
address book. Any thoughts?????
Thanks
Rick A.

RLA655, "it opens but it's not the same
address book.", what does that mean? Is it the book you want? I'm confused. Find OE info (maybe it'll help?) @:

The address book under Accessories will open, but it's has different contacts in it. Hope this clears things up.

RLA655, do you still have a valid copy of what you want? Sounds to me like some of the 'friendly' software you have installed wrote it's address in your book? Sorta sounds like something a nasty might do.
If you restore, do you have a valid copy of the book you want? What if you search for .wab files and see if your old one comes up?
