I a set up Outlook Express 6 to be able to log into my email account and sadly discovered that when I delete a message in this program, it deletes it at the web site email account as well. Is there a way to avoid this?

What web site email account? There are settings in all email programs to save deleted messages. Check your folder options.

If, for some reason, you want to save deleted emails in OE, you can. You have to check the settings in Options. I'm not familiar with Gmail, so i can't help you there. If they have folder options, check for a setting that says save deleted mail. Better yet, if you want to keep them, don't delete them.

Well, I am still selecting things in both OE and at the Gmail site, and still having no luck.

You would think that even if OE deleted messages that they would at least be store on the Gmail site in the Trash folder, but nuuuu....

Anywho, ima just keep changing settings I suppose till I figure out what to do.

What I would like to do is be able to use Outlook express for websites that require it for whatever reason, while still maintaining privacy on my PC while having copies of all inbox emails not on my computer, but stored on the gmail site.

nevermind, I see that everything is stored in the "All Mail" folder, but, I am curious what will happen if I were to delete all messages in the OE "All Mail" folder.....
