Outlook Express 6 keeps re-opening!

Hi I'm having a problem with my Outlook Express - it keeps re-opening itself, even though I have closed it down and not clicked on it again to re-open.
Sometimes it is so bad it keeps over-riding everything else I have on the screen to make it the top most screen, and as soon as I try to switch to something else, it jumps back to the top, making it sometimes impossible to even close down the computer!
I have run checks for spyware and viruses and all is clear.
I'm at my wits end trying to solve this problem, and any searching for similar topics hasn't provided me with any helpful solutions, I surely can't be the only one who's having(had) this problem??

Try this: In OE go to Tools>Options>General> uncheck "Check for new messages every......."

Did it ever work properly? Have you installed any updates since it worked properly and when the issue started? Have you tried a System Restore to a day before the problem started?
Also, look at Control Panel, Scheduled Tasks to see if it's listed in there.

Sure sounds like a virus/Trojan to me. Try a Trojan remover.

Thanks for your messages and solutions to try out. It seems to be an issue with my keyboard so have got a new one and the problem has now disappeared! Weird.
