Outlook emails urls not active

Hello, I just reformated my harddrive and resinstalled Windows XP. I have done this many times over the years but for this first time I noticed that urls in Outlook Express are no longer active. Before you when you automatically had a url or email in an email it would be clickable, not is it displayed as text only. How can I fix this? Thanks.
