I have recently purchased a new laptop, using office 2003, i can send recieve email no problems, however when i try to open an attachment of any kind, jpg, pdf, doc, whatever the program that launches by default to open the particular file always says its corrupted. I've done a bit of testing, if i send the same email from a machine to my laptop and my desktop, the desktop opens everything ok the laptop still indicates corrupted attachments. i'm out of ideas here..

Check this setting. Open Outlook. Click Tools. Click Options. Click Security Tab. Un-check "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus. Click Apply. PhilC

Hi, could it be your too high security settings not allowing to open attachments? Make sure you have an up to date antivirus installed and running, then alter Outlook security settings: - Open Outlook - Click on Tools in the menu, and scroll down to Options. - Click on the Security tab. - Make sure “Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus” is UNCHECKED. - Click on the Apply button. Click on OK. You should now be able to open attachments. Dont know if you already covered this, but anyway, hope it helps. Abraço. Branco
