OS: XP Prof
CPU/Ram: 2.4 HGhz Intel
Comment:

I just had to rebuild my PC and had to install XP prof again. Applied all updates and reinstalled all application software.

In Outlook 2003, when I try to add a new address book, I get the folllowing error when I select Outlook address book or Personal address book:

"The account you have added is not fully configured. It might not work properly until re-configured correctly"

If I select data Mgmt option I get the error:

"There was an error locating one of the items needed to complete this operation. It might have been deleted"

I then get the dialog box which has the New option - I do not want to create a new datafile as my current has all of the data.I have run scanpst but no solution

Has anyone had this before after reinstall of XP/Office 2003?

Thanks for all your help

Lalz

You may find it with Google.

More than likely Office 2003 has a repair, something like this.

On the Help menu, click Detect and Repair. If you do not see this menu item, click the chevrons at the bottom of the menu to display the hidden menu items.
In the Detect and Repair dialog box, click Start.
Click OK, and then restart your computer.

Repair dos'nt work, try Cleanviews
What are the Outlook 2003 Command-Line Switches?

To apply the Cleanviews switch, follow these steps:

1. Make sure Outlook is closed.
2. On the Start menu, click Run, and in the Open box, type the following command:
outlook /cleanviews or outlook.exe /cleanviews (You must have a space after “outlook” when typing the command.
3. Click OK. Outlook will start without the previous error.
In some instances, it may be necessary to run the switch a second time. Additionally, some customized views may need to be recreated.

Or, you can remove the Outlook Address Book from within Outlook and then re-add it.
