Outlook 2003 not showing reply text

I am running Outlook 2003 and sometimes when people reply to my message, I can only see my original text and not their reply. I know it is there initially, however, because when the transparent "you have new mail" popup appears in the lower right hand corner of my screen, I can see some of the reply text, but when I click on it I can no longer see it. Please help! Thanks heaps :)

Beth78, SWAG, could it be that the reply text is the wrong color? Something like white text on a white background? What if you make ALL (CtrlA will select all) the text a contrasting color just to see? HTH. Ed in Texas.
