I still cannot find a viable solution to Outlook XP taking 2-4 minutes to open in other profiles. I have posted this here and elsewhere before to no avail.It continues to open in less than 5 seconds on the Admin profile but forever on anyone elses.This is regardless if the others are signed on or logged out.Any ideas out there?
BTW the SP1 available from MS will not install either.I did try to put all the files from the CD to the disk and it still cannot find the files.The MS suggestion of a new folder does not work either.
Thanks,

Do you have windows messanger disabled?, If so Outlook will continue to look for it and take its good time before deciding it is not there.

You can tell outlook not to look for messanger under tools,/ options,/ general/ I think. It all depends on whether you are using xp pro or xp home.

Give it a shot, if it dosn't work, I still would not let messanger off the hook. I would look at other possibilities

Lock and Load

You're brilliant. I disabled MS Messenger in gpedit.mcs a few weeks ago on two machines - and both just took their time with opening Outlook. (20-30 seconds) After reading your post, I knew that was it. Anyone having this problem will want to uncheck "Enable Instant Messaging in Microsoft Outlook" under

Tools->Options->Other

After unchecking this, all ops returned to normal and Outlook opens in a heartbeat.

Thanks!!
