Out of range video error when playing Jewel Quest 3 program

Specs: Windows XP
trying to download Jewel Quest 3, Download went great,but when I go to play the game a rectangular box opens up and says out of range { 53.7 khz/85hz }. Could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Adjust you screen resolution. The game is trying to put the display into a resolution it cannot handle.

If you are using an LCD display you do not need 85Hz refresh rate. 66Hz will be plenty. 85Hz is for CRT displays.

I agree with Stewart (previous reply to post). That sounds like a monitor refresh rate setting.
I can make that happen on one of my screens by setting the refresh too high on my video adapter, like 80Hz would do it for me.
Lower the refresh rate on your video adapter's configuration. Go at decrements of -5Hz at a time.

The grass may not be greener on the other side, but it just might have less weeds. :-D

Thank you for the help, but I can not get the correct Hz, or resolution. I am really puzzled with this. I haven't had this problem before, any help would be greatly appreciated. I have Sony LCD 17 "

You set the resolution and scan rate with the video driver software. If the game is attempting set set them to something different you need to adjust the games configuration.
