Well, It started when I was changing the settings for the display properties. I clicked on settings and finally I clicked down on advanced option which is below the color quality. I clicked on adapters then clicked on "List All Modes...". Once I did that it gave me a numerous amount of color qualities and screen resolutions among them. The thing is that im pretty sure I clicked on one of them from below the list and my computer's monitor turned off and said "out of range". So after that I turned the computer off, and from then on, I couldn't see the image of the screen, the whole thing was just black but I know it can't be a problem like a virus or something because whenever the computer turns on I hear the sound of the start up thing. So how can I get the screen resolution back to normal? Ive tried everything and I can't seem to come up with a solution for this because seeing as how I can't change the screen resolution from when the computer starts up and begins to load I don't know how else to do it, and now im stuck using this old computer which goes really slow unlike my other one which is way faster and im trying to find a way to fix it. Someone please help me out.

Yes, even that won't work. I try to start it up in safe mode but it doesn't let me continue on for some reason.

I had that problem at one time and fixed it by way of Safe Mode VGA Mode. Why isn't it letting you go there? What problems are you having beside using the wrong driver?

Well, I bring up the options and then I choose Safe mode in order to start it up but as it loads up it just freezes at that moment and for some reason it just stops and won't continue, I don't reckon having any other problems so this shouldn't be happening. Isn't there another way?

So that indicates you are able to access Safe Mode. Do not select default Safe Mode. Select Safe Mode - Enable VGA mode (you may have to press F8 again to see the advanced option - havent been down there lately)

Yusaki,

I personally hates the what if scenarios. Do it & report back. It should work.

Well..It didn't work but I did see that you mentioned Safe mode With Enabled VGA but I only saw the option "Enable VGA mode" alone by itself with no Safe mode by it, I tried that one and it didn't do anything. Above that there is only -Safe Mode- -Safe mode with command prompt- and -Safe mode with networking-. So im really stuck and I dunno what else to do...Got any more ideas?

Try the LKGC (last known good configuration) - another Safe Mode option. Failing that I'm running out of ideas. What else did you do beside tweaking with the display properties. Also what prompted you to you to do it?

I already tried that option, didn't work either. Well the thing is that my screen resolution was a bit messed up seeing as how most of my icons and fonts were a bit to big. The screen resolution couldn't fix that so I went to the advanced option which is below the color quality and next to the troubleshoot button. After that I looked around a bit then I clicked on adapter and found the List all Modes thing, So I clicked on it and saw that there were more options to pick from, those being screen resolutions along with color matches. So I picked the one that was nearly close to the bottom and the next thing I know this thing flashes on my screen saying out of range and some numbers following up on that. So I waited for a while and it didn't go back to it's default size, the whole screen was black and I had no choice but to shut down my computer. After I restarted it the whole screen was black and nothing showed up, other than that I can hear the sound it makes when a computer starts up playing in the background letting me know that it's the screen resolution, so I just need to find out how I can get into the main screen in order to change the screen resolution back to normal, but I can't do that as long as I can't see what im doing. But it's ok if you can't think of anything else, thanks for helping me out at least.

What about Safe Mode with Command Prompt - huh?

And the recovery console - can you get into that as well or can't you?

Safe mode with Command Prompt won't work either, nor will my recovery console. I just can't seem to find a solution for this...

I tend to think you must have done something much more than what you have told us.

Hm..Maybe the fact that I turned the computer off during the time it said out of range it saved that setting into it's memory, but other then that I don't reckon having done anything else.
