hi,
I have installed windows xp, now i have one accounting software, name is Tally 5.4.
Now, sometimes when i try to run this program, i get error. It says "Exiting Tally ! Out of Memory"
First i was thinking that it is due to SP2, so i reinstalled windows xp, but i still i am getting same error. However sometimes it works very well, but out of 10, i get error in 7 times. And also i am not able to print anything from this software, when ever i gave print command it gives same memory error problem.
pls do the needful.

128MB and you running XP? How many other softwares you have also installed? *)
If i am not wrong, WinXp minimum RAM required is 256MB!

You need more memory. I would recommend at least 512MB. But with 1GB, you gamming experience is much better.

If Tally is like any of the other accounting packages I have run, it's sure to be a resource hog. With 128MB you obviously don't have enough physical memory to run it on the Xp platform.

Heed the advice above and upgrade your RAM to 512MB

Lessons learnt the hard way are not easily forgotten.

It is surprising that M$ recommendation is 128MB. I guess that would work just fine with just windows, nothing else 8). Nice try, M$!

I think it's more of M$ marketing ploy. If they raise the mimimum system requirements, fewer of us would buy it. It's just IMHO :-)

How big is your hard drive? How full is it?
Often times these messages are because the swap file is out of space and your hard drive is nearly full. You may not realize that XP has a System restore that if left to default, will really take space up if you were close to begin with.
Minimum ram for XP is 64 meg with 128 recommended, but it sure runs alot better with 256 or more. If it really is a ram problem, you need to see what you have running in startup as well by going:
Run, msconfig, ok, startup and probably removing most of what is in there...all you really need is antivirus and firewall(if you use one), the rest is probably unnecessary.
