An Open Letter to AOL
Dear AOL,
I know you're almost done transforming yourself from an ISP business entity to a wannabe global, ad-supported Web company.
I know you were once known as Quantum Computer Services before you reinvented yourself as AOL.
I know you have been running the business from a huge complex like THIS outside Dulles, Virginia.
What I don't understand nor want to see happening is why are you moving to my backyard in New York City?
Over the years I have resuscitated literally hundreds of computers that suffered all kinds of ailment from your bloatware software and I am used to it. Your moving to New York City is beginning to bother me. I guess it's time for us to move out away from you.

LOL
You forgot to thank them for all the disk's and CD's they've sent out in the mail. They make attractive colorful coasters on which to rest your coffee cup while working on your computer..............
AOHell................

Nay I don't need to thank them for anything. They're the one who should thank me for beta testing the first AOL software when they were known as Quantum. All they gave me in return was appointed me a Charter Member for life - as long as I don't canel the primary account. What a joke it was.

"Your moving to New York City is beginning to bother me."
and bothered you should be ... now they're coming after you!!!

No. It was Quantum’s “Promenade” service launched for the IBM PS/1 in 1990 - as per the fact sheet below.

So basically, this thread boils down to something resembling this:
Dear AOL,
NIMBY
Sincerely, XpUser
Actually, you should send an email resembling that, and see if they actually respond to you. :P

I'd love to fire off the NIMBY letter & the picture over to AOL but I think it may never reach the destination - for two reasons.
Number 1 - AOL new CEO is vaporizing AOL as an ISP
http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/...
Number 2 - Time Warner is mulling the sale of U.S. AOL access business

Good riddance AOL - you're finally leaving us alone! Rest assured we won't be missing you.

And think I'll keep quiet about my oldest running email address being an AOL account.
They suspect nothing!

I'm afraid it's too late. BTW they even spotted the hidden message "They suspect nothing!" in your post. LOL
