Hi, recently i just upgraded my computer from win me to win xp. during installation, i forgot to disable the autoboot for cd, hence half way during installation when my computer restart.. setup starts again. my computer is working well now, but when i restart my computer, there's a menu for OS listing 2 choice, but both are winxp. how do i disable one of them so that i can automatically boot into win xp??

Hi!

There's a hidden file in the root of the system partition called boot.ini.
There will be to identical lines. Remove one of them, save the file and reboot. Now it's fixed.

Good Luck!

(What Mangus said, just more specific)
go to run C:\boot.ini, you will see it open in note pad. it will have a section called operating systems, remove one if they are identical(it will be a line of code). The lines of code should look like this(multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(3)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect). If they are different, check to see which one is right one. If they both work , just delete one.
