OS Boot Screen Problem
Name: superyutz Date: December 16, 2008 at 10:25:52 Pacific OS: Windows XP Home CPU/Ram: AMD Athlon XP 2500+/ Product: Biostar / N/A
Comment:
Whenever I turn on the computer, before the OS boots up, I get a DOS prompt to pick the OS I want to boot: WINDOWS XP (default) or WINDOWS XP (default). They are both the same. This slows my boot time down by 30sec. if I'm not there to pick one. Plus it's getting on my nerves. How can I get rid of this anoying glitch....Thanks SY

You at some time must have installed WinXP to TWO different folders. You can shorten the time that screen shows or you can stop it from showing. However, it might be a good idea to see what you have going on.
To access the boot choices and edit them.
Right click on My Computer and choose properties> advanced> startup and recovery. You can change the settings there.
Be sure you know which one works before doing this as choosing the wrong one will result in problems.
Try both choices by rebooting and choosing each one time and see what you get. Both may boot but be different as for as installed programs, etc.
