Specs: Windows XP
I have a Dell Inspiron Mini Notebook. I let the battery die for the first time last night. When I woke up and turned it back on, it kept saying: Operating System not found. What does this mean and what should I do?

1- Are you saying that using AC power it gives you that message?
2- Can you remove the battery and try it with just AC?
3- In your manual is there a reset switch for the notebook?

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

1-2 - I tried it with no battery and just the cord, and no cord and just the battery. Both said that.

3 - I don't have a manual. My sister sent it as a gift and she only sent the laptop, the cord, and a mouse. It was used by her husband but not used that much.

Yeah but I can't change anything from there. According to Dell, and my mother who is a computer expert, I have to buy a whole new hard drive.

That sounds about right. You will want to order a preloaded drive from Dell for your unit if possible.
