Alright guys, I really need help with this because I can't afford to lose the contents of my hard drive and as of now, I know they are still there, I just need to get to them. Here is the situation:
I was in the middle of installing Red Hat on another partition of a 40gb hard drive. There was an error midway so I rebooted. GRUB came up, but neither OS would load. So, I decided to just delete all the Linux partitions because that worked in the past. Well, I did that and now I have just the Windows partition with XP on it, but it still won't boot. I checked the boot entries with bootcfg /list, and it says there are none. I think that is my problem. So, I scanned for all Windows installations and found the XP one. I figured if I added it to the bootcfg, all would be fixed. I tried bootcfg /add, I selected the installation, tryped the identifier, and left the OS Load Options blank, pressed ENTER. I get an error saying it failed to add the selected boot entry. Now when I try to boot up, it says Operating System not found.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Correct.
I would ahead and install Linux. Or install Windows again. Read a tutorial on dual booting with XP. Either way, you are going to have to make some boot entries.

Here's an update:
I'm in deep crap here guys and sinking, I need serious help! Well, the story is very long, but I'll give a lot of detail and keep it short. I was installing another OS on my hd and it got screwed up midway, so I rebooted and then I couldn't boot into either OS (original or new os setup). So, I figured screw the new os I'll just get a new hd for it. So, I used the command prompt to delete the new os partition. That seemed like it was working until I restarted and then it said Operating system Not found. From there I decided to mess with the boot and partitions to try and activate the original partition. Never got it to work. Since I really really need the contents of the hd, I figured maybe could install another copy of XP to fix stuff. Thats where I'm at now. I'm able to boot into the new copy of xp on a second partition. But I need to get into the original xp and original partition. Please help! AIM: iceborg623
