open windows explorer, then goto tools, then folder options, then file types, then chose folder and select advanced, then click on explore and then hit set as default then ok and you are done

Thanks G for replying. The only option in advanced was (find). It looks like I have to make a new action. If I make the new action (open) what application do I use to perform the new action? Anthony

It sounds to me like you opened the File Folder option not the Folder.

The File Folder has just the find option.

The Folder has explore and open options.

Yes you are right it is the file folder. When I right click on the folder to view properties it says type: file folder. I guess I dont understand what the difference between a file folder and a folder is.LOL. I cant believe I built this pc and am having this problem. I must be overlooking something.

open windows explorer

select tools

select folder options

select file types tab

hightlight folder (not file folder) and select advanced

highlight explore and hit set as default

hit ok, then apply and then close

Try opening a folder now and see if that helps.

If this doesn't help, I'm at a loss to what to do, but im sure it can't be too difficult and if I run across a solution anytime soon, I will post back.
