peace-ja, most things will open with IE and graphics with free Irfanview (available free @ : http://www.irfanview.com )so you can use one of them for most. If that won't do, you can pay a visit to Filext @: http://filext.com/. There you'll find an alpha listing of the various filetypes and what opens what.
If you need to use something special, simply put a tic in the 'always use ...' box and it'll be automatic next time.

Dude, chances are your hard-drive is infected. What you need to do is get Kaspersky 7.0.
What greater betrayal is there, to give pain where you owe love.

peace-ja, Go to the link below and try the "FixDrive.zip" which may correct the problem.

i have avg v8.0. i scan my computer every night so there are no viruses on my computer. i first encountered the problem when i pluged in my flash drive. avg immediately removed the virus, but when i tried double-clicking on the flash drive icon the 'open with' box comes up. and when i right click and then click on open it opens. i fixed that problem by formating my flash drive. after that the the same problem moved to my c-drive. this what i see when i open the auto-run file in my c-drive
[AutoRun]
open=MSInfnd.exe
shellexecute=MSInfnd.exe
shell\Auto\command=MSInfnd.exe
i think the above should not b there.i was doing some reading and i found out that although the virus is gone the problem it created will still remain because it rewrites the autorun file. and all though the anti virus removed the virus it did not fix back the file that was rewritten. well thats what i think is creating the problem.
none of the responses worked.tallboy
