Open run box in Win. XP with a batch file

January 21, 2011 at 05:51:14
Specs: Windows XP
Administrative privileges and group policies have removed the ability to have the Run box accessible in the Windows XP SP3 environment. As an Administrator at this college, I don't want to affect changes locally while I'm running simple diagnostic commands. I just need the use of the Run box to do what I need and then close down and go. In and out.

Log onto the computer as a Local Admin instead of the Domain Admin. This should use the local GPO instead of the Domains.

You could go into the Active Directory and remove the Domain Admins from the Default GPO or make a GPO just for the students that applies these settings to them instead of putting them in the default GPO.
