Is is possible to open a rar file with winrar if its missing a file.

Example. 49 rars total but rar 33 is not there. All others are but not this one

Can it be done? Or did I just waste an hour getting something only to trash?

Thank you in advance.

Roberto

You have to have the lot for the files to be unpacked, try and download rar 33 again.

Aye. 33 was missing completely in the files. 32-34 and 1 through 49 are there minus 33 only.

If there is is a Par file somewhere , ( saying that the originator of the split Rar file, has Put one someplace in the file download, ) You may be able to repair broken blocks of the rar file with , Quick Par , Or You may try HJ split to see if it may be able to repair it , to be able to recombine the rar files.

Not sure if it'll help in your case or not, Worth a shot , !

MSI 845e mb 1 gb ram and a p4 2.4n running xp ,win 2000 advanced server and win 98 SE alot to learn and I know so little !!!!

other than that, you can try to be patient... depending on where your getting your files, sometimes a poster will repost missing to damaged files at a later time. If you have the option at your site, you could also request the poster for a repost of that file.. or see if anyone else was able to get 33 and have them post it.

As a final try, you could see if you can find your file from another source.

good luck
