open port when dialing.....

my second computer says i have an open port whenever i try to dial on the internet..then it just sits there and wont do anything elseno error number or anything...just says i have an open port..i havent done anything yet to try and fix this problem cause i really dont have a clue....it just started today and i dont have another moden to test here with me....any ideas?
Go to GRC.COM and test shields up. It will show all opn ports.

Just a quick answer, might be somewhat better then the previous contributer.
Looks like you have a software modem, and you need to install one of the software driver components so it will work with windows 'forget' off-hand what its called. PCI Serial Controller? or similar? Go into the properties for the modem, and query it, you should get an error message. Install it off your installation cd. It's a pain to do, it knocks you around a bit, but it will work.
