Is there a trick to set open file dialog settings to a certain file display configuration (such as detail & date sorted)? I need to do this for apps other than win explorer or MS office.

tony, you can select the way things get displayed within a folder simply by RIGHTCLICKING a blank area and selecting what you like best from the 'sort by' menu. Is that what you want? HTH. Ed in Texas.
