I use a program that whenever you open it, you have to drag the sides out so you can see the whole interface.
In the file menu, if I go to Window->Tile, I don't have to drag anything and I can see it fine.
Is there a way to automate this when I click the shortcut so I don't have to perform that step each time I open it?
I've tried modifying the shortcut to open it Full screen but that didn't help. I've also searched on passing arguments through the shortcut target line, but I couldn't find anything helpful out there.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Without knowing the identity of I use a program that whenever you... I don't know what you are talking about. Sorry.
i_XpUser

Sorry, I didn't think that was relevant. Ok, the program is The Customer Service Request System, made by Motorola.
Does that help?

Yes it helps however the problem you have isn't related to XP itself. It's a third-party problem (Motorola).
You may wish to check out their site HERE for help. Good luck.

Oh boy, I hear ya' tclark.... I also go nuts when I open my photos in Dell Picture Studio. I always have to do the same as you; drag it to full screen. That drives me batty, lol... I'm gettin' gray hair.

Thanks Mr. XP user, but as usual, your comments aren't very helpful. Your trying to respond to as many posts as possible isn't helpful when you don't have a helpful answer.
What I am trying to find out is if there is a way to automatically adjust a forms properties when it is opened. Something that would apply to ALL windows forms. Yes, I know I could contact Motorola and ask them to recode this, but I don't think I would get very far, and at the least, it would take forever.
XP User, you are relieved from trying to help out on this. I won't think any less of you.

Does the shortcut offer "maximized"?
=====================================
If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.M2

Yes, I have tried changing it from Normal to Maximized, but it did't work. It opens a couple of batch type screens before the main page loads, so I thought that might have messed that option up.

Did you try to holding down the 'shift' key and manually extending the window across the desktop, BTW when you do this close the window via alt-F4.
When you reopen the program via its launch icon, it *might* just work for you, however it doesn't work with all programs JSYK.

XpUser is right when he's asking you to be more specific, wether his conclusions may help you on this matter or not.
Today's subliminal thought is: 'Calm down ... it's only ones and zeros.'

The batches may very well trip up the 'maximize'. When this thing finally starts is it a DOS app? In other words, is it TEXT?
Take a look at the batch immediately preceding the problem app. Is it running and EXE, PIF or?

After opening the window, stretch it out to the size you like. Then hold down the ctrl key and click the X to close the window.
If that doesn't work, repeat the above procedure, but this time hold down the shift key and exit.Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

I tried the shift-drag/alt-f4 close, but it failed.
The main program is not a command line program.
Here is what the bat runs:

Another way might be to move the sides to the size you wish (or full). Don't use maximize button, use the sides to pull to edge of screen. Then close the program with holding the control key and using the most upper LEFT icon pulldown to close

Wow!
"Thanks Mr. XP user, but as usual, your comments aren't very helpful."I disagree strongly with that statement. I have found Mr.XP user to be helpful and polite in almost every post. In fact I have not seen an un-polite post. No one can fix every problem from 3000 mile away. To say he stinks is wrong and unfair.

"Without knowing the identity of 'I use a program that whenever you...' I don't know what you are talking about. Sorry."
That comment by XPUSER was neither polite nor helpful. If he didn't understand the problem, then he should have moved on. Instead he feels the need to make some snide remark like he is some sort of god on this forum.
Then he tells me to contact Motorola to fix this problem... What is that??? That is usually the last step in fixing a problem. Instead, it's the first step he recommends. His day job must be working the phones for a customer support company, because they are the only other people I know that have those types of answers.

Did you try #14?
=====================================
If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.M2

I did try 14 but it didn't quite work. The program first loads a couple of batch windows before starting, and it looked like they were maximized. When the main window loads, though, it is still a little smaller than it needs to be.
