Lost or Corrupt User ProfileCreate a new account/administrator profile and log in. Then go to C:\Documents and Settings\[Previous User Profile] and copy all folders to: C:\Documents and Settings\[New User Profile]. Then reboot.

User Accounts

His problem is he cannot log on the welcome screen as a user , so he cannot get into user accounts because he is locked out of windows. What he needs to do is log in under the default administrator account that was created when windows was setup. To log in to the Administrator account, press Ctrl+Alt+Del, release the Del key, and press it again, while still holding down the Ctrl+Alt keys. This will change the Welcome Screen login to the Windows 2000 style log in, where you can now type Administrator and the password for the Admin account. It will be Administrator as your user name and ***** as your password, if you do not know your administrator password then your only option at this point is to reformat or buy a third party tool that lets you change your admin password at boot up. If you bought your computer from someone (like dell) then you will need to contact them and see if you can obtain the admin password for your system. Im not sure how they assign them because i dont buy prebuilt computers. If you can log in as administrator, just go to user accounts and reenable your password, or create a new one.
