i know i've seen the answer to this question somewhere in these forums but i dont remember and it's been a heck of a long time ago (like 4 years or something) but what i mean by my question is lets say on im a website called mp3s4life.com and im trying to DL mp3s. initially with win XP (or mine at least) it only lets me get information from the server consecutivly from two sources... im making this too complicated lol... well anyway, i can only download 2 songs in this case at one time, IE refuses to download more than 2 at a time from that same website.
There's a regedit fix for this but i dont remember where it is. could someone please tell me? THANKS!!

Here you go...
1. Start Regedit
2. Go toHKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
3. Change the MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server to whatever number you want.
4. Change the MaxConnectionsPerServer to whatever number you want.

Wombat is right on. That should do it for you. If you are nervous about editing the registry by hand, here is a file that will accomplish the same thing: http://personal.ryantadams.com/2008...
Keep in mind however, the server may also limit the number of connections you can make to prevent you from using up too much bandwidth.

Note the following disclaimer taken from MS Article 282402 that provided the same information given above:
This procedure is for informational purposes only. Changing the maximum number of connections beyond two is a violation of Internet standards; Microsoft does not recommend this procedure for use outside closed networks.
Ryan Adams,
Your tutorial may have a typo. Note that M$ article limited the maximum allowable simultaneous connections to 10, not 15.

@ XpUser: I see that, however, I was (still am) under the impression that Microsoft chose 10 connections as an example and that any value will work. If the value "15" is used, will Internet Explorer still only allow 10 connections max, will Internet Explorer break, or will IE allow 15 connections?

Good question but have you actually tested it to make sure that the 15 connections will not break IE?

I know it won't cause a problem. I don't have a easy way to test if it maxes out at 10 anyhow though.

wow, thanks for the info guys! i was SOO close to finding it myself but i went under internet explorer not windows.
but umm against the internet standards??? that's flippin' weird! nobodies gonna know though right? lol
and my guess on the topic of maximum... have any of you guys tried downloading more than two at a time?? if it's limit is 10 then it'll just do what it used to do when you tried it and the limit was 2... it'd just sit there and wait for one of the other connections to finish or timeout
