Spike, How does that help his situation? Do you have any alternative free programs that are better than outlook without a lot of adware? Mike, Try a repair - How to Reinstall or Repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP:" http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=318378 Good luck.

Personally, my ISP has their own webmail server...... I never touch outlook. I can access it from anywhere also. Check with you ISP if they have anything similar....... I'm with rogers cable. If you or anyone else has the same, in the url enter:
webmail.rogers.com
Exactly like that, no "www" before webmail.rogers.com
So as alternative.......

Hi marty,
What you are saying is that the one unread message is not showing at the normal position at the top of the inbox list where you would expect to find it. What it may be is that you have received email that is dated a good while ago, and it's only just arrived! This date may be "outside" the viewing area. Just scroll your mail and see if the "unread" message is there.....
Summary: Hi I have a messaages saying that I have unread messages at my login screen, what is it? as I have not configured for Outlook or Outlook express. Thanks Ken ...
