hey all, earlier i posted question about how to set up remote desktops on XP. one more question is, is XP's remote desktop detects the unstabled IP address? or everytime you have to check on what IP address is the host pc logged in, and entering IP address accordingly from the remote pc to gain access??? any idea or help would be appreciated. thanks.

You have to know what ip address is on the computer you are trying to connect too. If that ip address changes then you have to have the new ip address. I know this sucks if you drop the line and it reconnects with another ip address. If it would work with the computer name instead of the ip address then it wouldnt matter but I have yet to get a connection using the computer name myself.
