onbd usb ports not detected on m/b

hi, ive just built a computer , and after switching on ,the onboard usb ports arent detected , even in system profile. Installed usb driver off m/b cd still nothing, any ideas ???

the usb ports could be bad on the board. xp should load those if there are enough irq's to go around. remove the usb drivers, and reboot, see if they'll load properly.
