On bootup XP Hanging on Searching for Boot Record from IDE-

Specs: xp, 256
am having a problem with my pc when i boot it all it says Searching for boot record from ide-...ok and when i try going to bio sitting it apears then it restarts again.if same one could help

When you are in your BIOS, your computer just reboots?

you will need to pull out your hard drive and boot back into your bios. Does your system still reboot?

You need to pull out your ram from your computer, only put one stick back in, and see if it still reboots from the BIOS. Also check to make sure your CPU fan is working and is not clogged with dust

still it boots up from bios and it says
Searching for boot record
from CDROM-NOT FOUND
Searching for boot record
from SCSI-NOT FOUND

Okay, when I say that it reboots when you are in your BIOS. That means that you tap del, f2 , or what ever to get into your BIOS. Now you are on your BIOS configuration screen, your not doing anything to the computer, then it just reboot on its own. like it shuts down and restarts by itself.
