I just fished out an old 32mb Parallel port Mp3 player, i havent used it in over 2 years as the headphone socket insisde was damaged but ive managed to solder it back together but now i have a problem, i have the origional program and in order to run it i have to run it under compatability for win9x (b4 3 years ago i was using it on a p133 with windows98) but the computer will not recognise the player at all, it gives me 3 port options ive tried to detect it on all of them, also ive looked on the internet for hours and the site mpress3 who make the mp3 player no longer exist, the player says its connected to the pc but the pc will not accept its there, ive tried all the compatability settings. anyone think of anything else?

Trying looking for drivers on the internet. Driverguide.com is a good place to start.

How old is this player? If it's only 3 or 4 years old, XP should see it. Did it have software with it when you bought it? That might be kinda hard to find if the company's no longer in business. You could try typing something in Google like "file transfer software"(without the quotes) and the name of your mp3 player. Other than that, I don't know what to tell you.
