It has been 20? years. I just want to remember and use the basics from back then ie. copy con hello.bat echo on cls print"Hello" echo off ^Z
I know a lot is missing, And I want to use it in XP command prompt. It tells me it copied 1 file But there is no file to be found..? Any help on the old ways in the new command prompt?

Check the prompt to see which directory (folder) is current. Thats where the file ends up. Change it with CD anydir if you want it elsewhere. You can even still use F6 for ^Z in the command prompt.
