Specs: Windows XP
My Okidata C5500N printer used to work fine. I think I started having problems around XP SP3, but I'm not sure. If I connect the 5500 to my PC, I print fine, but within five minutes (even when the PC is not used), the whole system locks. The screen, keyboard, and mouse freeze. Only a hard reset works.
I tried different drivers, but have had no success in working this out.

Thanks!!

Ang

Hi,

I tried it a while ago and had difficulty getting it to work. It didn't seem to want to go back in time. Plus, it took me a while to figure out that it was the Okidata. It also hard crashes with my Maxtor Backup Drive connected. So I just connect that when I want to backup the drive. I was hoping Okidata had a new driver. I might try using the C5500N's networking connection. I wonder if that would bypass the issue?

Thanks!!

Ang

... if it was ok before @ some point it still might be worth a trying system restore in safe mode:

... tap "F8" key @ boot-up select "safe mode" using arrow keys [press ENTER]

... once in safe mode click "no" on the "pop-up" that should guide you to system restore

... select a restore point by altering the restore calendar to a time when the pc was working fine.

... if its good "make" a new restore point ....
