Ok.. My first post on these forums =D

In the last couple of days I have been doing
some video editing with Corel VideoStudio
Pro X2.

Today when I was doing some editting, I
noticed 2 of the files in the video were not
co-operating with the video editor, so I
deleted the files from the HD (This was hard
as Explorer crashed a few times before I
could delete them)
I then restarted my PC after increasing
virtual memory to MAX to find out that
almost every video file crashes when I try
to do something with it.
It (The program I try to play/edit it in)
crashes when I try to play it, try to edit
it in video editor or try to edit it in
explorer.

So now I cannot play almost any video. (I
havent tried all of my videos yet, but the
ones I have don't work)

ANy idea whats wrong? Ive tried everything
from re-installing the video editor to re-
downloading the videos. This means its an XP
problem, ye?

Just to let you know, im no noob with
computers. Ill give you some of my pc specs:
2gb DDR2 533 RAM
1.6Ghz Dual-Core Celeron (775)
MSi p4m900m3 MB
256MB HD2400 Pro GFX Card
160Gb Maxtor HD

That does not sound good. I suggest you run Chkdsk /r to check out your hard drive. Running 'memtest' for a few hours would also be a good idea.

"after increasing virtual memory to MAX"

I'm not sure what that means, but I suggest that you change it to 'System Managed size'.

After that I would do some malware scans.

I just did a chkdsk, all ok.

memtest reported errors at 1%. With no
programs (except AVG) running. Its not
overclocked at all either.

Its under warranty still, but I am not 100%
sure it is the RAM, it might be my board.

I don't know what memory test you are running, but I suggest memtest86. It runs under DOS.

Memory errors are not likely to be caused by a motherboard problem. But either way, it should be covered by your warranty.

I ran memtest86 from cd last night. It got to
100% with no errors. What does that mean?
