Ogg Vorbis causing problems!

Something called "Ogg Vorbis Filter", which appears to have come pre-installed on my Dell computer, is driving me mad!!! Every time I open an application that seems to prompt it to start - Quicktime, for example - it causes that application to freeze, and the mpg or whatever won't play.
I DIDN'T install this myself, and it doesn't appear in the list when I go to "Add or remove programs" - so what can I do about it?!

Ogg Vorbis is a lossy compression format like mp3 or wma. If you don't listen to Ogg Vorbis encoded music files, then I would suggest removing the codec and see if that clears up the issue.
To remove it, go to Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices. Click on the hardware tab and double click on the Audio Codecs catagory. Click on the Properties tab, highlight the Ogg Vorbis codec and click on the remove button.

Thanks for that. Trouble is, when I go to where you suggest, Ogg Vorbis is not listed!
