Solved Offline Windows XP Updates Installer

Specs: Windows XP Pro, 1.6

Now that Windows XP updates has been discontinued (as of April 8 2014) and the final security patches have been established is there a single downloadable file that contains all of its patches? I ask in case if I were to load Windows XP on a machine to discover that the Windows Update checker in Internet Explorer 8 stops working or something similar where accessing these updates is no longer available.

You can still download and save Service Pack 3 for future installation when required:
So grab it while you still can.

There is no single download for individual updates released since SP3, nor are they available now anyway - - it's passed the deadline of April 8th

As long as you install SP3 and install a reliable and trusted antivirus and third-party firewall, you need not worry about security holes.

However, as time progresses you will find fewer and fewer hardware and software manufacturers who support Windows XP on their new products, which is fine if you never intend to buy any new computer software or hardware - - not a very practical situation to be in.

Windows Update for XP will still work. It hasn't been shut down by M$. There simply will be no more updates added to the list.

Previous updates will remain available and offered. However from past experience after Windows 98 update support stopped the "Windows 98 update website gradually fell apart. So get them now.

When you have done all the updates consider these:

and this link details how to get them all - before they start to disappear...

It's a little slow to load the full article, but hang in as it does give useful(?) info and how to...

And this chap's site provides a complete method to download assorted updates (all of them) and save them for use later... The site is German in origin but is also in English. Work your way across the top menus, and also the download "link" near top of right hand column/edge'

edited to include second link...

Interesting finds trvlr. I did XP the hard way and downloaded the file version of each Update as I went - now on CD and USB HD. Did the same for W98 but never used them (although a W98 poster on here found them handy).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
