Hie,I recently bought a laptop acer 4200 travel mate,but due to uncontrolled virus attacks,it got corrupted,i did a full window installation using the original xp cd service pack 2 it came along with,but it cant be activated and registered,please help me out. David

All they provided is a OEM restore CD or DVD. In general that's true, but I have an HP Vectra with both XP Pro SP2 install CD and restore CD. I recently bought (for a friend) a Compaq desktop with XP Pro SP2 install CD. The HP has a hidden partiion, so the restore CD is provided to recreate that also if it's damaged in some way.
