Hey guys,
I've just installed Office Xp Pro, and thought "hmmm, where's that lovely little desktop toolbar I used to get with Office in '98?"
So I opened Word up and asked he who knows all, the paper clip.
He says I can activate the Office Shortcut Bar, by going to Start/Programs/MS Office tools, and selecting the "Office Shortcut Bar" option.
I have no such option, I have an MS Office Tools folder yes, but no option like that. Any ideas how to get the toolbar up?
Thanks guys.

I remember what you're talking about. I personally quit using the tool bar because it used so much memory. I threw my stuff down on that handy, dandy 'quick link' integrated toolbar.
But you don't care about what I do... You want the toolbar.
Might not work - but take a look here for step-by-step

It's in my MS Office Tools menu, so mebbe if u tried a 'custom' re-install and expanded the office tools section, u can just install that part ??

Office Shortcut bar is now a directory within the "c:\program files\microsoft office\office10\shortcut bar\Office" directory. the intention is to use Windows XP toolbar technology to create a less resource intensive utility. All you need to do is drag the folder from the explorer view to the top of the desktop and a toolbar will be created with the familiar icons of the past. From that point on you may conveniently add files by dragging and dropping them to the toolbar. This toolbar may also be dragged to the left, right and bottom of te screen. It also has the always on top and auto-hide properties available with right-click. Initially the bar will show with the title of each program but right-click and deselect "show text" to remove this option. Hope this helps. The only other option is to do an upgrade of the previous version where the office tools menu with the shortcut will remain.

Hey...I had the same problem....and what you have to do is make sure you either reinstall and choose complete or go into add/remove programs and change the Office tools and add the Microsoft Office Short Cut Bar..... :)
Hope this helps...
