I just starting using outlook that came with Office XP. I checked the box that says "send immediatley when connected", but then when I turn on Outlook, it doesn't send/receive. What do you reccomend I do about that?

Adam,
I too have had that problem in the past, until I read a little more in the help. The term "send immediately when connected" means that once you connect to your account, i.e. Exchange, POP3 or IMAP server, then Outlook will send and receive any messages. When you open Microsoft Outlook it is not connected to the IMAP or POP3 server (usually an Exchange server is). That is why it will not send or receive until you actually open up the inbox of your mail account, or press the F9 key to force a send and receive.
You may want to use Outlook Express if this is too much of a problem because that automatically connects to the accounts and performs a send and receive.
