I recently installed Office 97 - Professional Edition software that my father sent me. It has Outlook on it, but I prefer to continue using my OE instead. My problem is that spellcheck won't work in my OE ... is this because Office 97 uses Outlook for default email (I changed default back to my OE), or could it be another problem? If it is because of Outlook/OE issues, can I get around it?
The message I get every time I check spelling in OE is: "An error occured while the spelling was being checked."

First I went to the website that Tufenuf gave and went through the list of suggestions without any luck. I just wasn't able to "enable" spellcheck. Pity, because that was certainly my first choice for fixing this problem.
So then I went to the website given by Wombat and installed the spell checker for OE and ... VOILA! It works perfectly!
Thank you, Wombat! :)

Rhonda, Sorry to see that the fix didn't work because it worked for many others but I'm glad that Wombat's suggestion for that program worked out for you.
