Ordnal 36 missing in MAPI32.dll.....

Yes, I've read everything about this. I am trying to run Outlook 97 on an XP system. Everything I read says to replace the mapi32.dll from the OFFICE 97 disk.....didn't work....investigated further, and I've come to the conclusion Outlook 97 can't work on XP due to the fact that the only mapi32.dll files are in the subsystem folder WIN95 and WINNT.....there is no WINXP. Does anyone know if Office 97 is compatible with XP

I used 97 on XP Home for almost a year with no problems. I don't know about the replaceing mapi32.dll. I just installed it like normal. I upgraded to Office 2000 and kept the 97 install (you have to install 2000 to a different folder) because one of the Access databases I had made wouldn't run in 2000 Office.

indeed it should be no problem, i've deployed that combination to about 20 desktops without issues. Obviously, you need to download/install all service packs.
