perhaps the name of the program would be in order? Does it exist in add/remove programs? Still exist on the start menu?

It is very unlikely that office 2007 removed your program. It is 'possible' that it changed the associations, so that your photos are no longer being opened with that program. If you answer the questions asked, it might be possible to help you.

the office program on my computer was accidentally un-installed prior to the office 2007 being installed. photo editor was lost in the process. i would of stayed with the office program i had if it had not been deleted while trying to make room on the c drive (sony vaio splits the hard drive, nothing on d, everything on c). now that i have bought 2007 i am trying to stay with it but if necessary i will take it out and buy the older version in order to keep my photo editor, it also made my spell check in only french but i downloaded another dictionary.. i'm not a computer genus as you can tell...just trying to make this work... thank you, m..

Photo Editor was taken out of MS Office some time ago, if you google for it, you will find a standalone version but, I was unable to get it to work properly. A great alternative is Photofiltre, it is a free download, small and works very much like photo editor, I like it better. Good Luck
