Off center display?

March 22, 2009 at 12:58:47
Specs: Windows XP

The display on my computer is completely off center, but the taskbar, and the background image are perfectly fine. I can right click on the desktop and make a new icon, which is also normal, but when I open a folder, or run a program... etc, it is far to the right, off the screen. I opened my documents and tried right clicking on the folder from the taskbar and choosing the 'move' option and placing it on the screen, but it simply doesn't work. Help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like you have a dual display option enabled. Look at the back of your computer where the monitor connects. Is there a second monitor connection?

Right click on a blank part of your desktop and choose properties> settings> advanced> monitor. Is there more than one listing there?

When I choose properties the window must be in the "other" monitor and I can't get it onto the only existing monitor.

Then boot into Safe Mode and try changing from there.
